LOVE

Love is in the Air (But Don't Forget To Breathe)

February 13, 20252 min read

It's February, and love is definitely in the air! But let's be real, all this Valentine's Day hype can make us feel like we need to be in a relationship to be happy. And if we're not? Well, then we must be missing out, right? Wrong!

This week, instead of buying into the pressure to be part of a perfect pair, let's take a journey into the heart of what truly fulfilling relationships look like – starting with the one we have with ourselves.

We're going beyond the surface, beyond the flowers and chocolates, to explore the deeper desires that drive us in our connections. It's about getting honest about what we really want, shedding those old beliefs and expectations that might be holding us back from experiencing the love we deserve.

Think about it: how often do we get caught in a "problem-solving spiral," focusing on what's not working instead of what we truly desire? This can leave us feeling perpetually unsatisfied, never quite reaching a place of contentment.

And when it comes to relationships, this pattern can be especially pervasive. We might settle for connections that only satisfy one aspect of us, leaving us feeling like something's missing. Maybe the physical connection is amazing, but there's a lack of emotional intimacy. Or maybe it's comfortable and familiar, but lacks that spark of passion and excitement.

The truth is, fulfilling relationships start with a deep understanding of ourselves. What truly makes us feel loved, supported, and cherished? What are our non-negotiables? And how can we cultivate a deeper sense of self-love and acceptance, regardless of our relationship status?

So, as we embark on this journey of self-discovery, let's keep these questions in mind:

  • Reflect on the past: What patterns have emerged in your previous relationships? What felt fulfilling, and what left you feeling like something was missing?

  • Challenge your beliefs: What limiting beliefs do you hold about yourself or relationships that might be holding you back? How have societal expectations or past experiences shaped your views on love and connection?

  • Embrace your wholeness: Remember, integrity is about being whole and complete, nothing added and nothing taken away. How can you bring your authentic self to your relationships, honoring both your needs and the needs of others?

This Valentine's season, let's shift the focus inward. Let's cultivate a deep and loving relationship with ourselves, recognizing that this is the foundation for all other fulfilling connections. Whether you're with or without a partner, remember that you are worthy of love and deserving of deep, meaningful relationships that nourish your whole being.
